Mental Health Counseling
The CBT explanation helped me to press pause on overreacting to a situation and learn how to make a plan to not let the situation consume me to the point where I just shut down entirely.
— John S.
Helpful Psychology
Amazing… and different! I go outside despite the weather because each time I am learning something new. Recommend everyone who is offered this opportunity take advantage and participate.

Expanded Mindset
This type of therapy, immersed in a world so much bigger than my own, helped me understanding how I work along side my coworkers because it can help me to advocate for myself as I struggle at times with anxiety.

Sense of Collaboration
Meet Lindsay Cray - Mental Health Counselor
Therapy done differently.
It's more common than we recognize to be depleted by your daily routine or family, to experience self doubt, or to live with ongoing stress/trauma. Without an opportunity for mental restoration we can become burnt out or disconnected by persistent feelings of depression, anxiety, frustration, apathy, grief or even chronic pain and illness. My aim for each client is to help you develop a greater sense of self-awareness, balance and control over your life. Even if you aren't quite sure of what it is you need - we'll figure it out together.
What does it look like?
Supervised under the practice of Dr. Meghan Fox PsyD. I use a mixture of mixture of traditional therapeutic approaches and Nature Based Therapy (NBT), done outdoors in combination with indoor or telehealth appointments. This could look as simple as a walk in a park or with more, immersive sensory experiences in nature to get the body in motion and feeling more alive. The ultimate goal is to reduce stress and increase your social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
Offering a specialized focus in relationships, trauma, anxiety and depression to help people who are struggling to find purpose, peace and joy in thier lives. Whether you’re feeling burdened by every day stressors or are experiencing something more acute; you are not alone in your journey. Reach out.

I do not participate with commercial, self-pay, Medicare, or Medicaid insurance plans. However, we can arrange a self-pay agreement. I will provide you with receipts/superbills for you to submit to your insurance plan. Many insurance policies offer "Out of Network Coverage", which would, after any applicable deductible, reimburse you a percentage of my fee.
If you are utilizing Out-of-Network Coverage, I can provide you with specialized receipts ("superbills") and the insurance company will process the claim to your out-of-network benefits. You may receive an Explanation of Benefits and/or reimbursement after you submit these claims.
-
• Self-pay can mean a deeper personal investment in your therapy, which can lead to you getting more out of it.
• Your therapy experience is more private - none of your records, diagnostic information, or authorization for services must go through insurance.
• In some situations, using your out-of-network benefits can actually be more affordable or comparable to your standard copay to see an in-network therapist.
• If you have a high deductible and haven't had any other medical expenses yet in the year, you are responsible for paying up to the deductible amount in psychological services fees out-of-pocket before your standard copy applies. This is the case where seeing an in-network therapist and out-of-network therapist can accrue effectively the same cost.
• If a psychologist isn't constrained by only providing services they can bill to an insurance company, they are often able to spend more time and creativity crafting the perfect treatment plan for you. Especially if you would like to receive mental health services for a long period of time, this extra attention may benefit your progress. This is also true of services that are not intended to address a diagnosable mental health condition, such as couples counseling.
• Less wait time. Especially for the less-known insurance plans, it can be very difficult to find a therapist who is in-network and accepting new clients. If you limit your search by insurance, you may have to spend months on a waitlist before seeing a therapist.

I will consider this request from clients who find themselves in a unique situation of needing financial support. Only you will decide how much you will invest in yourself and in this process but I am happy to provide some guidance to make a choice that ultimately affects us both (isn’t it beautiful how we’re all so connected to each other? I’m going to go sniff some flowers and think about that…)

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. I accept cash (exact amount), credit/debit/FSA/HSA cards, or personal check. Payment plans are not available. I require all patients to keep a credit card on file even if they are paying by other methods.

Since the scheduling of an appointment involves time, travel and organization to a location reserved especially for you, I request that any changes are made at a minimum of 24 hours notice before the session. I may also determine that a relocation is needed on short notice based on sudden changes in weather if the session is scheduled for outside walking. Clients requesting to cancel or reschedule appointments within 24 hours of their session will be charged 50% of the full fee. Clients requesting to cancel or reschedule appointments on the same day of their session will be charged the full fee. Please note that a switch to a telehealth session may be a good solution if you are unable to attend an in-person session in the office or outside walking; Frequent last minute requests to switch locations (including to telehealth) are difficult to accommodate and may result in an additional $25 convenience fee.
